I. Introduction

a. Purpose of the guidelines

The purpose of these guidelines is to provide a clear and fair framework for appointing individuals who wish to work for the ssv.network DAO. The guidelines apply to each compensated contributor (contributor) of the DAO, ensuring consistency and fairness throughout the process.

b. Scope and applicability

This document contains the most recent version of the DAO's contributor guidelines. To become effective, it must be voted on by the community. The latest approved version will be immediately effective and applied to all new contributors. Existing contributors will remain under the previously approved version at the time of their appointment until their engagement expires or gets terminated. Every extension of an existing engagement will fall under the most recent version.

II. General Contribution Principles

The DAO's contribution process is based on decentralized decision-making, ensuring that the community collectively drives the selection of new contributors. Transparency is vital, with all decisions and processes open to scrutiny by the community. We strive for inclusivity and diversity, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds, and we are committed to continuously improving our contributor guidelines.

a. Decentralized decision-making

Appointing anyone for any role on the DAO follows the official Make A Proposal process to guarantee full transparency and decentralized decision-making for everyone on the DAO.

c. Inclusivity and diversity

The DAO values inclusivity and diversity and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other personal characteristic. We believe that diversity of thought and experience strengthens our community and leads to better decision-making. We strive to continuously improve our contributor guidelines to ensure that they promote inclusivity and diversity throughout our organization.

d. Continuous improvement

The DAO is committed to continuously improving its contributor guidelines, ensuring they remain effective and aligned with its values and principles. This is achieved through monthly governance meetings and a proposal process open to all community members.

III. Application Process

a. Submission of application

Applicants must submit their application through the ssv.network forum, providing all relevant information, including acknowledgment of the contributor guidelines. The community will review and evaluate applications based on predefined criteria (Make A Proposal). Voting, minimum participation, and consensus will determine successful applicants who will proceed to the onboarding process.

b. Review, evaluation, and voting

The review, evaluation, and voting process for new contributor applications occurs publicly on the ssv.network forum and follows the established lifecycle (Make A Proposal). The community reviews and evaluates each application based on predefined criteria and determines successful applicants by public vote (snapshot.org) who proceed to the onboarding process.

d. Period of validity

Each contributor's assignment's validity period shall be between 3 to 6 months. Contributors may request an extension under the latest terms and guidelines. Contributors may suggest adjustments to their engagement as part of an extension proposal at least 30 days before the end of the previous assignment. The extension period follows the Make A Proposal lifecycle. If not extended, the engagement ends automatically at the end of its validity period.
